I
have developed a deep appreciation of the beauty
or the Sussex Countryside as I drive regularly from
Brighton to Lewes to deliver work to a gallery I
exhibit in.
A
pair of cheeky magpies caught my eye on my first
journey and now I look out for them every trip.
They remind of the traditional rhyme:
One
for sorrow
Two for joy
Three for a girl
Four for a boy
Five for silver
Six for gold
Seven for a scecret never to be told
So
here they are: two cheeky magpies mated for life,
a sunlit hill on the Downs and an old Sussex fence.
The
original painting is watercolour, gouche, acrylic,
pen & ink with iridescent medium to capture
the eye as the light changes.
