For many years I've been a member of the RSPB and fed the birds in my tiny Brighton garden. The birds who visit regularly have enchanted me. I've become so captivated by them that they now feature regularly in my paintings too. I get to know them as I study and sketch them - their individual characters and personalities shine out of the page.

We open our house and garden to the public twice a year for the Brighton Festival of Artists Open Houses (see www.trojanhouse.com for details of our next opening)...the birds have become one of the star attractions and many a happy buyer has gone home with their favourite painting having 'met' the real bird in the garden!
