My Emperor and Empress paintings were inspired by visits to local farms with my children who were very impressed with the giant Shire horses. The two images are available as a pair or separately and clearly show the influence of my Bridge Champion husband's interest in playing cards.The originals were painted in watercolour and gouache with bold pen and ink detail and pattern added.
